The Seattle Times reported today that Bellevue boutique Marqsmen will be closing after Christmas. After three years in business the recession has finally taken it's toll. Founder Marques Warren says that having to complete with department store price points has proven to be a challenge and he is ready to move on to his next venture.
The moral of the story? Shop local. It's sad to see so many of our beloved Seattle boutiques closing their doors and you can help keep them alive. Even if you have $20 to spend, spend in somewhere locally and those dollars get reinvested back into the community.
