How to Have the Perfect Bachelorette Party

In order to have the best bachelorette party ever, you have to spread out the festivities over an entire weekend. That way you can have the maximum amount of fun possible and not feel rushed into getting everything into one night. The first step is to find a headquarters for your bachelorette weekend. My Queen Anne apartment is way to small to accommodate the overabundance of girls that were a part of the festivities so instead, my fiancée got us a room at The Fairmont downtown.

Next, begin your weekend with a quiet dinner somewhere like
Purple Wine Bar in Seattle. According to Seattle Metropolitan Magazine there’s “Nothing else like it” and you really can’t go wrong with a global wine selection and a Mediterranean themed menu.

After dinner at Purple keep the night going by having a glass of wine at the
W Hotel bar. It’s intimate, sophisticated and the drink menu is delicious. The “people watching” isn’t bad either!

A bachelorette weekend would be incomplete without a Spa day. My girlfriends and I chose Duque Salon & Spa in Ballard where they pampered us with fresh Mimosa’s and a light lunch before treating us to an afternoon of beauty that included body scrubs, make up applications and mani + pedi’s.

After a relaxing afternoon at the spa you’ll probably be in the mood for another night out so I’d suggest reserving a VIP booth at
Twist in Belltown for a night out with the girls. The staff is amazing, the food is delish and the drinks are stiff. It’s the perfect combination.

The morning after a night out with the girls it’s important to replenish yourself with lots of water and some good food. We had a nice bridal/bachelorette brunch at The Edgewater Hotel on the waterfront. The brunch includes a vanilla and raspberry cake from Morfey’s which was divine! During brunch my friend’s wrote their wedding advice and best wishes on custom note cards for me to save and reference when I need some inspiration.

After brunch your bachelorette weekend will probably be wrapping up and you’ll be exhausted. Plus, your friends who flew in from out of town will probably be getting ready to return home and you may have to drive them back to the airport. Therefore, I suggest a big group hug with all the girls and a final picture for the photo albums you’ll later put together with all the evidence from the best weekend ever!

I was told there would be cake....

Leave it to my best friend Jessica to find the BEST cake shop in Seattle from the comfort of her own home in Post Falls, Idaho. Give her 5 minutes on the Internet and she can make miracles happen I swear! Hands down, if you're looking for a wedding or special occasion cake, check out Morfey's on Queen Anne. The cake is amazing (the best I've ever tasted!) and the service was impeccable. For my bridal shower at the Edgewater hotel in Sunday, Jessica picked out a white cake with raspberry filling, pink frosting and an inscription that read "Best Wishes Sydney & Jeff". It was absolutely adorable! I will post pictures ASAP. In the meantime, enjoy the Morfey's signature pink and white wedding cake above.

Ruffles to Die For

I'm a girly girl at heart so for me, it's not a question of whether or not to wear ruffles in the first place, but how to wear them and update them for Spring 09. I love this ruffle skirt from Kill City in Los Angeles which has a flirty ruffle and a silver front zip. $78.

Kill City is destined to be a cult favorite. Check them out in LA at 7975 Melrose Ave. Or check them out online by clicking here. Kill City fans can also follow fashion on their blog www.killcity.net/wordpress
