Designer Cynthia Rowley Visits Obadiah Salon

In town for Bellevue Fashion Week, designer Cynthia Rowley recently visited Obadiah Salon prior to a VIP event and wanted a trim for her naturally curly hair. “I was inspired by September’s Vogue cover of Halle Berry and suggested Cynthia try a new cut for the show that evening” said stylist Vu Montgomery, “Anne Vincent [Director of Merchandising at Vogue] told her to trust me, and Cynthia gave me the freedom to give her a short bob, which suited her perfectly, it was sophisticated yet fun and flirty and she loved it!" Obadiah Salon was first approached in 2009 to style hair for the first-ever produced Vogue Front Row Fashion Show for The Bellevue Collection's Fashion Week and participated again this year in addition to styling for other shows throughout the week. "The excitement and hectic pace of Fashion Week can in a strange way remove a sense of expectation from the designers, they just do not know what to expect- except the unexpected. We need to be flexible, moldable and ready for any situation” says Michelle Kleppe, owner of Obadiah Salon. Meeting Cynthia was a pleasant departure from the mayhem for the entire staff at Obadiah Salon. “Cynthia was calm, charming, and down to earth…she was just like us!” said Vu.

Cynthia, we love the new hair! Great job Vu! We want you to do our hair next!
