Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail at LACMA

Craving fall fashion inspiration? Head to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to view the new exhibit "Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail". The collection spans from 1700-1915 and features a major collection of European men's, women's, and children's garments and accessories. The exhibition tells the story of fashion's aesthetic and technical development from the Age of Enlightenment to World War I. It also examines the changes the fashion world has made when it comes to luxury textiles, tailoring techniques and trimmings. Exhibit highlights include an 18th century menswear vest intricately embroidered with powerful symbolic messages relevant to the French Revolution; an evening mantle with silk embroidery, glass beads, and ostrich feathers designed by French couturier Émile Pingat and 3-piece suits and gowns worn at the royal courts of Europe. Thank you so much for the great posting. I actually went to the museum in 2010 and sow the outfit myself. It was truly amazing.

Thanks for your posting.
