The Look of London: In Photos

Last month we took a much needed break and escaped for an indulgent two week trip to London (one of our favorite cities!) While scoping the streets and shops for style trends we took tons of photos and want to share them with you! Enjoy!

Texture plays a major role this season in a variety of forms including velvet, suede and leather. This leather shift dress from Miss Selfridges was one of our favorite finds. It had pleats down the front and a zippered back.

These dresses were part of The Museum of Everything exhibit at Selfridges. Part pop-up shop and part underground art gallery, this exhibit had some really unique items and very cleverly designed apparel and accessory pieces. Check out more Museum of Everything gifts on Selfridges.com. Some of these items would make great holiday gifts!

This shoe chandelier is from the Kurt Geiger store in London. Brimming with mens and women's shoes and gold packaging adorned with images of accessories, the Kurt Geiger stores really do have "everything but the dress". Check out KG Trend Reports and AW11 ad campaigns by visiting Kurt Geiger.com.

We're pretty sure that Vogue editor Anna Wintour would never classify a donut as "glamourous", but while in London we were pretty excited to see that Krispy Kreme had launched a limited-edition series of pink glaze donuts in honor of London Fashion Week.

This shot of denim cuffed denim shorts (lower rack) was taken in the mens department of Urban Outfitters. I'm still not sure how these fit into a menswear fall fashion wardrobe, but they were thought provoking none the less.

While shopping the Portobello market on Notting Hill we always make a point to stop at the Hummingbird Bakery. We're obsessed because they always have the best, most creative flavors! Check out this menu! Cotton candy cupcakes? Yum! Yes please!

Balls of yarn lined the upstairs walls at Liberty of London. Signature fabrics and exotic textiles still play a major role in their merchandise mix. Check out the A/W Fabric collection on the Liberty of London website. You might also want to check out the Hello Kitty collab.

Girls on the naughty list won't be getting these adorable cards in their mailbox this holiday season. Only the nice girls will receive these "Keep Glam it's Christmas" cards! What a fun way to spread holiday cheer!

The look above was seen at Top Shop. The black and white theme was major in many of the stores in London but the update was achieved by adding pop colors and textures (check out the fur collar on the sweater).

Gold sequins are a fall staple this year and Moschino has created a gem with this short sleeve number seen at Harrods. For a bit more sleeve coverage, I also really liked this sequin mock wrap by French Connection (also seen at Harrods).

The 't0p knot' was seen all over the streets of London. It was so popular that Hershesons inside Top Shop even offered it as one of the style choices at the Blow Dry Bar.

Feathers are still in for fall but in London the feather has taken on a metal form instead. Check out these "faux feather" metal earrings from the Orelia line at Top Shop.

If you were in doubt that the ankle boot trend was here to stay, here's your proof.

More London images and trend news to come! Stay tuned!
