Spring '12 Trend: The Peplum Dress

This spring the peplum dress takes center stage and fans of this style will be glad to hear that this trendy silhouette is sticking around for fall. Fun, flirty and yes, absolutely girly the peplum dress creates killer curves for even the most slender fashion lover. (Pictured above: Marc by Marc Jacobs Peplum Dress from the Spring '12 RTW Collection)

For an exaggerated take on the trend check out this Jason Wu peplum dress featuring a delicate lace top and a cascading peplum ruffle. Complete the look with a chic skinny belt.

This structured peplum dress from Goddiva has a stretch blend for maximum comfort and a hidden center back zip. Pair this with some black ankle boots and a leather jacket for meeting the girls in the city for drinks or with a sleek stiletto for an afternoon wedding.

The peplum can also take a casual turn when turned into a stylish jumpsuit. This minimalistic number by Robert Rodriquez is made from silk and has an elastic waistband that is perfect for pairing with a colorful belt.

This Lily Pulitzer peplum dress is perfect for playing up the nautical theme this summer- especially if you're currently obsessed with stripes! The peplum ruffle on this dress is very subtle so no need to worry about calling unnecessary attention to your hips.

Speaking of Lily Pulitzer, we're also loving this blue peplum style dress with pinwheel embroidery adorning the sweetheart style neckline. The perfect dress to add a playful touch to an outdoor summer wedding.
