Stylish Getaway Guide: Bellevue

If you're on the hunt for a great getaway to unwind after a crazy week, the answer may just be right under your nose. In a recent post for PR Couture I discussed the importance of maintaining a healthy work/life balance, especially if your New Years Resolutions involve spending more time with the people you love.  Scheduling a weekend away isn't always possible, which is why I absolutely adore the idea of an in-city staycation. Just a mere 20 minutes east of Seattle, Bellevue is a great getaway spot with plenty of convenient shopping, spa and entertainment options.

Stay
Located in the heart of Bellevue just across the street from The Bellevue Collection Hyatt Regency Bellevue is a stylish place to stay on the Eastside and is connected via sky bridge to more than 250 shops, 45 restaurants and plenty of places to get pampered. Featuring over 700 guestrooms and 55 suites, Hyatt Regency has multiple on-site restaurants and offers guests free weekend parking. On our last girls getaway we stayed in the Mt. Rainier suite which features sweeping views of Lake Washington and Mt. Rainier. The 1500+ square foot room has two bathrooms, a full dining area with seating for up to 8 people, floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Bellevue Way and even a separate kitchen area. It's luxurious and absolutely perfect for a girls getaway or romantic weekend.

Shop
You can't book a weekend at the Hyatt Regency without taking full advantage of the nearby shopping at Bellevue Square. With a solid mix of Northwest favorites including Zovo Lingerie, Eddie Bauer, Ex Officio, Zumiez, and ROAD Apparel, the Bellevue Collection also has a variety of designer boutiques including Intermix, Michael Kors, DVF and  Burberry. The Bellevue Nordstrom store is also now home to the first Shoes of Prey Design Studio which enables shoppers to design their own shoes. Beauty fans will want to check out the giant Sephora store to stock up on travel-sized toiletries.

Get Pampered
For a traditional spa experience, guests of the Hyatt Regency should head over to Yuan Spa for massages and hydrotherapy. For those looking for a less formal experience, Recoop Spa is another convenient option offering nail treatments, body scrubs, massages and skincare.  Haircare fans will be pleased to know that the Hyatt Regency is also home to Obadiah Salon and the O2 Blow Dry Bar. This is the perfect start for date night or girls night out. The stylists at O2 will transform your hair into a bouncy, manageable mane in less than 40 minutes for $35. For lash addicts, Noir Lash Lounge has a "One Night Stand" service for $20 that includes the application of false lashes for a flirty night on the town.

Dine
So many good places to eat, such little time. On our girls getaway we arrived just in time for happy hour at Suite Lounge, located in the Hyatt Regency. Suite has speciality cocktails and small plates making it a great place to start the night. For dinner, nearby options include Daniel's Broiler, Joey's, Maggiano's Little Italy, and my personal favorite, Palomino's. Coffee addicts will be pleased to find Tully's Coffee in the hotel lobby for an early morning latte fix, or for a quick stop before heading upstairs for brunch at Eques. Tip: The Dungeness crab eggs benedict pairs perfectly with a mimosa!
