Fashion Calendar: Style '14 Annual Fashion Show Benefit

It's time to gather your girlfriends for a stylish night on the town! Tickets are on sale now for the 12th annual Northwest Hope & Healing Fashion Show which will take place on Thursday, May 1st at the Showbox Sodo. This year more than 30 breast cancer survivors will walk the runway showcasing spring trends from Seattle's best boutiques including Carmilia's, Coastal Surf Boutique, Canopy Blue, Queen Anne Dispatch, Tatters, Road Apparel, West Seattle Runner, Calypso St. Barth, Blue Luna and more. Tickets start at $50 for general admission and go up to $200 for VIP reserved seating. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Northwest Hope & Healing Patient Assistance Fund in an effort to offer financial assistance to women battling breast cancer in the Puget Sound area. Over the last 14 years, the Northwest Hope & Healing Patient Assistance fund has awarded grants to more than 2,000 women to help them get through breast cancer. To date, the annual fashion show events have helped to raise over $850,000. This year's fundraising goal has been set at $130,000. Come share a great night out with the girls while supporting a very worthy cause.

The Goodwill Glitter Gala is coming soon! 

Tickets are on sale now for the annual Goodwill Glitter Gala taking on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 at the Sheraton in Seattle. The evening will include dinner, a silent auction, an event raffle, and the much-anticipated Glitter Gala Fashion Show. The fashion show is created from items donated to Goodwill. All looks seen on the runway can be purchased at the Goodwill Glitter Sale taking place November 9-10th. Earlier this spring Goodwill collaborated with fashion students from the The Art Institute of Seattle to host a design competition themed "Through the Woods". Top designs from the competition will also be featured on the runway at the event.

WHY: Proceeds from the event support Goodwill's job training computer classes which are offered at ten locations from Bellingham to Burien. Last year alone the program served more than 8,000 students.

Strong Women Strong World Fashion Show Fundraiser

Join the city's best boutiques as they help raise money in support of World Vision's Strong Women, Strong World campaign, dedicated to empowering, protecting, nurturing and educating women around the globe. The event will take place at Fred Wildlife Refuge on Thursday, September 12th, 2013 and will include a runway fashion show featuring The Finerie, Kris & Kate, Vian Hunter House of Fashion, Hub and Bespoke, Velouria and The Clothing Company with additional designers and retailers to be announced soon. A fundraising goal of $10,000 has been set by event organizer Clarissa Holmes and donations can be made directly to the show's Go Fund Me page. This powerful event aims to support sustainable change for women around the world. Help make this event a success! Spread the word, do your part to increase awareness in your social circles of the Strong Women, Strong World campaign and take part in this inspirational community event by purchasing your ticket today! Seattle University Presents 'On My Block' Fashion Show

The 6th Annual "On My Block" Fashion Show presented by the Fashion Club of Seattle University will take place on Thursday, May 16th at 8pm. This year’s fashion show is themed around the unique style and persona of Capitol Hill. The show will be held at the FRED Wildlife Refuge located on Belmont Avenue and will feature live entertainment by DJ Bgeezy, Breaklites, and the Flavr Blue. Featured boutiques include Free People, Zebra Club, Aprie, Alive & Well, PRC, Blackbird, and Lucky Vintage. Tickets start at $10 for students and go up to $25 for VIP access.  All proceeds benefit the Seattle chapter of the YWCA's Dress for Success program.

This year's fashion show will feature Luly Luxe, Couture Evening and Bridal Collections paired with an elegant High Tea Service at The Georgian, located in The Fairmont Olympic Hotel. More than 30 breast cancer survivors will walk the runway to showcase spring fashion trends from local boutiques including Carmilia’s, Coastal Surf Boutique, West Seattle Runner, Howard & Marge, Canopy Blue, The briK, Queen Anne Dispatch, Veridis Clothier and Blue Luna. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Northwest Hope and Healing Patient Assistance Fund in an effort to offer financial assistance to women in the Puget Sound area who are battling breast cancer. To date, over 1,800 women have received grants from the fund. Tickets to the event range from $40 for general admission up to $200 for front row VIP access.

11 local designers selected to participate in Bellevue Fashion Week Runway Show

After the careful review of nearly 40 applicants, The Bellevue Collection panel of judges has picked 11 local designers to participate in the 2nd annual Independent Designer Runway Show as part of Bellevue Fashion Week. In partnership with Fashion Group International, the runway show is designed to feature emerging talent in the Seattle market.

Over the next few months, the designers will go through a process of mentorship from the panel in order to edit their collection down to the final pieces that will make their debut on the runway. One of the selected designers will receive a prize package that includes $5,000 in cash to help build their business and a special display in Bellevue Square during the month of October. Last year's winner was local designer Carole McClellan.

Style 09 Fashion Show

Look Good, Feel Good and Do Good at this year’s Style 09 Fashion Show on Thursday, April 30th, featuring Carmilia's, Coastal, Canopy Blue, Lululemon, Nuvo Moda, The Finerie, Clutch, Oslo's, Asher Anson and Kick it Boots. "We are so happy to be part of the runway show for the first time this year,"says Kimberly Arrington, owner of Clutch, "In previous years we have been part of the audience." The 7th annual event to benefit Northwest Hope & Healing is designed to provide financial assistance to patients in need, for non-medical support services such as child care, meal service, transportation, and emergency rent. Tickets start at $40 for General Admission and range up to $1000 for VIP. 

Peace, Love & Fashion at The Art Institute of Seattle

On Thursday, March 12th, 2009 The Art Institute of Seattle (AIS) will present its 11th annual fashion show “Peace, Love, & Fashion" at The Showbox SODO. Every aspect of the production from lighting and set design, to marketing and promotion, guest services, public relations and of course, the runway collections have been created from concept to execution by students at the college.

“Peace, Love, & Fashion is an opportunity for students to experience the electric energy of a major runway production,” says Executive Producer and Fashion Instructor Joan Kelly. “Not only does the show provide them with a great opportunity to develop their design and production skills, but it also allows them a fabulous opportunity to be a part of one of Seattle’s premier fashion events.”

AIS Alumni Blayne Walsh from Project Runway Season 5 will also make a special appearance at the show as one of the event judges. Additional judges for the event include actress/model Josie Bisset, Gisela Manning, Owner of Ragamoffyn’s Boutique, Laura Cassidy, Editor of Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, Ali Basye, Editor of Seattle Bride Magazine, Justin McKibben, President of Kibbn Designer Children’s Store, James Zachodni, Editor of D-List Magazine and Andrew Burkhardt, Booking Agent for Seattle Model’s Guild. Tickets are $20.00 through Ticketmaster for the 8 p.m. show.

1st Annual Blush Fashion & Trend Event

Join Little Black Dress Events on Saturday March 28th at Ascada Bistro for the Blush Fashion & Beauty Trend Show. The evening will include a fashion show by designer Vantha Ry and Spring Beauty makeovers from Laura Mercier, Smashbox, Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.
