Seamless in Seattle Hits the Runway

Seattle magazine has scoured the city for the best up-and-coming fashion designers and is excited to present it's first-ever Seamless in Seattle fashion show on Wednesday, June 8th at the Seattle Art Museum. Twelve finalists will debut their collections on the runway and the winner of the Seamless in Seattle contest will be revealed at the end of the night. Tickets range from $25 for general admission to $75 for VIP. You can also enter to win a pair of tickets by visiting the Seattle magazine website! Event proceeds will benefit the Ruby R0om.

Save the Girls Returns to the Runway

For the 3rd year in a row, Little Black Dress Events is rolling out the pink carpet for a night of fun and fashion to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. Taking place on Sunday, June 12th at PNK Ultra Lounge, this year’s “Save The Girls” Designer Bra Fashion Show will feature local celebrities turned designers. The line-up of creatively designed bras that will hit the runway will include submissions by Brooke & Jubal of Movin’ 92.5, Kaci Aitchison from Q13 Fox, New York Cupcakes, Girly Girl Wines, Pacific Dermatology & Cosmetic Center, Carrie Middlemiss of Bella Cupcake Couture, Mason from Movin’ 92.5 and many more! The evening hosted by Brooke & Jubal of Movin’ 92.5 will include a raffle, silent auction, and a special address by KIRO’s Michelle Millman on behalf of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Fashion show models include members of The Bombshells Dance Team and breast cancer survivors from The Young Cancer Coalition. “Our goal is to generate excitement for the Seattle fashion scene and help support local businesses while throwing a fantastic party in the spirit of giving back,” says event producer Audrey Clark. Guests will have a chance to win exclusive prizes and be entered into drawings while enjoying fabulous fashion, food and drinks. The VIP cocktail hour will begin at 3:00pm, doors for general admission open at 4:00pm and the runway fashion show will begin at 5:30pm with music by DJ Mayhem. Event sponsors include PNK Ultra Lounge, Girly Girl Wines, 7 Salon, Caruh Salon & Spa, and Movin’ 92.5. Swink Opens Second Location at U-Village


I'm seriously never washing my hair again. Or at least that's what I keep telling my friends- because now I don't have to. :) I'm pleased to congratulate Swink Co-owners Natalie Angelillo and Jacquie Byrne as they mark the opening of their second location in the University Village this week. Seattle women have embraced the blow dry concept and Swink has responded by continuing to add new cutting edge services, including semi-permanent eyelash extensions, keratin express and deep conditioning treatments, as well as feather and tinsel hair extensions and a wide range of makeup offerings using products by Suresh. Runway to Realway – Fall/Winter 2011 Trend Event

Seattle's Fashion Group International Presents: Runway to Realway – Fall/Winter 2011 Trend Event

Premiere showing of the DVD that recaps Fashion Week Runway Trends for Fall/Winter 2011/2012 from FGI’s New York Fashion Insiders, followed by a panel of expert Seattle Fashion Professionals on what trends will make it to the streets and why. This 45 minute documentary DVD is a look at what current events of the world are impacting the consumer mindset, and how the style trends hitting the stores this Fall season will be embraced and reflective of the times. As designers start working on developing the Fall/Winter 2012/2013 lines this viewpoint will help them to gauge what runway trends worked and why and how it will impact their concepts and styling choices for next year. Panelists include style expert Patricia Wolfkill of Merge, color expert Cathy Neidermeyer of Neidermeyer Design Associates, beauty expert Rosaline Hampton, and moderator Ali Basye.

The Dress of the Year

Fashion needed a moment like the one we had last Friday. The world let out a collective gasp as Kate Middleton stepped out in a beautiful, long sleeved wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. She looked amazing and fashion critics everywhere unanimously agreed!
