5 Fun Ways to Brighten up your home for Spring

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. I love the sunshine, the flowers in bloom and the crisp air in the mornings. I especially love spring cleaning because it gives me an excuse to give my house a mini style makeover to celebrate the start of new season.  Here are 5 easy updates that can help brighten up your home for spring!

# 1 - Graphic prints are in for spring! Add some visual interest to your home with the addition of a graphic print rug in a bold design. A new graphic print rug can breathe life into any room and this season there are lots of great colors and patterns to choose from.

# 2 - There are so many wonderful benefits to having plants in your home. Some varieties can help improve the air quality while others have a calming effect to help you unwind after a busy day. But you don’t need to have a green thumb or a lot of space to have plants. Ceramic wall planters are an easy and affordable update for spring and are very easy to care for.

# 3- When it comes to standard prints to decorate your walls, we’ve all been there and done that. For spring, why not try freshening up your home with beautiful fashion illustrations instead? I’m a fan of Inslee by Design because their watercolor illustrations are stylish and affordable even for those on a strict budget.  The 8x10 print (shown above) is only $25.

# 4- Remember the old bean bag chair you had as a kid? Well Bean Bag Boss is bringing back the bean bag in grown up colors, patterns and textures like lame, leather. These chairs are great for adding comfortable seating in the living room, a kids room, a library or anywhere else in your home that you want comfortable chair to lounge around in. Check out the video (above) featuring half a dozen ways to use your bean bag.

# 5 - My idea of heaven includes a home library filled with fashion books, so it’s no secret that rounding out my top 5, is a new fashion-inspired coffee table book.
