The 11th annual YWCA Closet Treasures Sale is coming to South Lake Union October 11-12th. This year the sale will pop-up at 415 Westlake and feature deep discounts on gently-used designer apparel, accessories, shoes, handbags and more. All proceeds benefit Dress for Success, a YWCA program that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing them with professional attire and career development tools to help them thrive. Admission to the Saturday sale is free, but since the best stuff always goes early, you'll want to support the cause and be the first to shop by attending the VIP preview sale on Friday, October 10th. Shop local and get pampered at the 6th Annual Girls Gone Glam event

The 6th annual Girls Gone Glam event is taking place in Seattle this Thursday, May 16th at the Alexis Hotel. Guests will enjoy signature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while they shop from chic local boutiques and get pampered with massages by Chroma Salon & Spa. Participating vendors include Formulary 55, Jaleh Clothing, Glamspoon, Orange Box Jewelry, Shamila Fine Jewelry, Swink Style Bar, Urban Farm Naturals and more. Seattle University Presents 'On My Block' Fashion Show

The 6th Annual "On My Block" Fashion Show presented by the Fashion Club of Seattle University will take place on Thursday, May 16th at 8pm. This year’s fashion show is themed around the unique style and persona of Capitol Hill. The show will be held at the FRED Wildlife Refuge located on Belmont Avenue and will feature live entertainment by DJ Bgeezy, Breaklites, and the Flavr Blue. Featured boutiques include Free People, Zebra Club, Aprie, Alive & Well, PRC, Blackbird, and Lucky Vintage. Tickets start at $10 for students and go up to $25 for VIP access.  All proceeds benefit the Seattle chapter of the YWCA's Dress for Success program.

YWCA Announces 2013 YWCA Keynote Speakers

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the YWCA Inspire Luncheons. Spend an afternoon at the Inspire Luncheons to learn about the work of the YWCA, listen to engaging speeches from this year's keynote speakers including America Ferrera, Geena Davis and Elizabeth Gilbert. The YWCA Luncheons have cumulatively raised $21 million and made it possible for the organization to connect and help more than 60,000 people across King and Snohomish counties each year. The YWCA has a vision: that all people live with dignity, free from violence, racism and discrimination.
