London Day Three

Fall Fashion Notes : London Day Three

I'm still dreaming about these pony hair pumps from Selfridges. This just might be my next pair of shoes. The combination of the classic silhouette paired with a funky print is a match made in heaven.

The Kurt Geiger section of shoes inside Harrods is amazing. So many beautiful colors and shapes. This is absolutely one of my favorite brands to shop in the UK.

Tapestry inspired boots are the perfect way to add interest to denim jeans this fall.

Feeling patriotic? You'll love these rhinestone encrusted heels spotted at Harrods.

Black leather jacket paird with a black mini as shown here by Love Moschino.

Say goodbye to the ugly sweater and hello to the ugly sweatshirt. But hey, at least you'll get the party started. The tassels are clearly ahead of their time.

LOVE this tribal inspired pair of peep toe heels with cool studs at the heel. Spotted in the Selfridges Shoe Gallery.

Chic fox prints on tanks and sweatshirts as seen at M&S. Anything animal inspired is fun for the fall season.

This look is one of the signature favorite looks for Fall 2012. You can't go wrong with a graphic tee and a leather jacket.

Check out the fierce feline on the dress above. There were lots of tigers, cougars and kitties screened on to clothes in London.

Spotted this dress downstairs at Top Shop. Love the fur detail on the sleeves. Don't worry, the fur is faux.

The Hershesons Blow Dry Bar inside the Oxford Circus Top Shop is a must on my list when I'm in London. They can do my hair in 30 minutes or less and it looks amazing every time.

Two trends in one piece. The must-have denim jacket with the tribal print details.

London: Day Two Part Two

Fall 2012 is all about finding yourself somewhere between really romantic and hardcore rock & roll.
Why wear your heart on your sleeve when you can print it on your shirt instead?

A rainbow of colored denim. Feeling for prints? Any reptile print will do.

Graphic tees, tanks and sweaters are everywhere in London featuring faces, places and animals.

Crosses on anything and everything.

The wedge bootie will make running around the city a lot easier (and slightly more stylish) this fall.

Collars, Collars everywhere. Step aside Peter Pan collar. The detachable collar is so much easier to wear and requires less committment.

Love these shoes! The look of a high heel paired with the comfort of a wedge.

Your entire fall wardrobe could center around these key items: denim shorts, leopard print dress, red pencil skirt, leather jacket.

London: Day One in Pictures

Really cool geometric shaped trays displayed here as a vanity set. This would be really cool displayed as a centerpiece on a coffee table.

We see signs for pop-shops all over the city. There's something about the urgency that makes you want to shop.

Here's another one. This one gets extra points for the cool chalk board sign.

I could spend hours on Notting Hill looking through old trinkets, jewelry, books and tea sets.

Spotted: Lots of Banksy street art and prints.

Yum! Crepes on the street = Best Street Food Ever!

Colorful textiles spotted on Notting Hill.

My son Liam had to get carried around Notting Hill. This is what jetlag will do to a toddler. :)

We always make a point to stay near Hyde Park. It's the British equivalent of Central Park and always so much fun to escape the city and walk around.

So excited to be back in one of my favorite cities! Tomorrow we hit Oxford Street!

How To: Update your Living Space in Style

With just a handful of days left in the month of August it will soon be time to shift our focus from summer to fall by thinking about indoor updates. If it's been awhile since you've updated your home textiles (think: duvet covers, throw pillows, sheet sets, etc.) it might be time to give your indoor spaces a little TLC.

When it comes to duvets, goose and duck feathers keep in warmth on cool nights and chilly mornings making them a prime choice for the changing season. Another bonus to a feather duvet? They resist clumping unlike cotton and poly-filled comforters that tend to break down over time. A growing number of consumers are "going green" by switching to natural fibers and materials for health and personal comfort reasons by choosing linens made of bamboo sateen.

Duvet covers are a great way to quickly and affordably change the look of a room. They can be easily washed at home and are available in a wide variety of colors, patterns and styles. A good duvet like the ones from Linen Chest are an investment in quality and comfort. They are great also for guest rooms, where you may be entertaining older relatives one weekend, and then kids the next. Add in extra pillows and shams, or a breakfast cushion to create your own inviting twist to sit and stay.

When the weather outside begins to turn dreary, your bedroom will remain a source of energy and inspiration. Updating your bedding is a simple way to renew your entire living space. Your bed is the centerpiece of your bedroom- the haven in your home where you can rest and relax. Now is the perfect time to refresh and redecorate your bed with a new style. Indulge yourself in comfort and color as the trees begin to shift into the vibrant colors of autumn.
