Fashion Calendar: Holiday Sip & Shop in The Nest

The Thompson will be hosting a very stylish holiday-themed Sip & Shop event this Saturday from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. making it fun and easy to shop local this season. Many of the vendors participating in the event were featured in the fall fashion series at the hotel including Andieanderin, Moorea Seal, Feral, and LumberUnion. Here's what you need to know about each brand that will be on-site this weekend:

Andieanderin - This company has ties (no pun intended) on the East and West Coast. Co-founder Lisa moved to New York earlier this year while her partner Cara continues to run the operation in Seattle. Andieaderin makes a gorgeous assortment of neckties inspired by influential women both past and present. They just celebrated their one-year anniversary and recently added 5 new styles to the line.

Armoire - This local startup recently raised $3M in new funding to help grow and expand its offering. At its core, Armoire is a clothing rental company for women, but it's so much more. Read the full story online from last week's Sunday Seattle Times

Coupe Rokei - This downtown hair salon is located across the street from The Thompson hotel and is locally owned by Rory McGowan. They do fabulous hair, make-up, and skincare including microcurrent facials and they also sell a large assortment of Oribe hair and beauty products.

F E R A L - This cool local handbag and leather accessory line owned by Shannon Fisher is 100% made in the U.S.A. and recently reached its funding goal on Kickstarter which means the brand can add more styles and colors to the already fabulous collection. (F E R A L will also be on-site at the Gossip & Glamour holiday party on Monday, December 10th!)

LumberUnion - I'm not super familiar with this local brand, but I've heard through the grapevine they have some pretty amazing things coming in the year ahead including a new collection + storefront in the city. The vibe is laid-back PNW and the merchandise includes styles for men and women.

Moonlit Skincare - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Midnight Shift Overnight Facial Oil from Moonlit Skincare and I'm pleased to report that they recently added several new products to the line-up including the Powder Down Powder (shown above) and the Slumber Bath Salts. The entire product line is perfect for the gift-giving season and the price points are JUST RIGHT. Co-founder Stephy Kim will be at the Sip & Shop this weekend. Stop by and say hi!

OULA- This cool local company focuses on small-batch artisanal garments and accessories that are globally styled and sourced. Founder Erika Dalya Massaquoi will be on-site at the Sip & Shop. Learn more about her story here

Pipe & Row - This Fremont boutique is well-known for it's West Coast vibe and curated mix of brands. In addition to apparel, they also stock a fashion-forward assortment of jewelry, handbags, accessories, and home goods.

Scotch & Soda - With two stores in the Seattle area (Capitol Hill and University Village), Scotch & Soda is making their mark on the city. The merchandise mix includes clothing and accessories for men and women and the prints this season are SO GOOD. I recently partnered with them to dress Kelly and Andrew of King 5's Local Lens

Union Studio Metals - Self-described as adornment for "free-roaming gypsies with androgynous taste", Union Studio Metals makes beautiful pieces by hand using a range of metals and materials. View the collections online here.

Get out and shop local this season. It matters more than you know and every dollar counts. We hope to see you on Saturday at The Nest!
