Fashion Calendar: Outdoor Winter Market at London Plane

Seattle's beloved London Plane has announced an Outdoor Winter Market featuring local vendors that will kick-off this weekend and run every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas, rain or shine. The shopping area will be covered, but be sure to bundle up! Guests can meet local markers, shop for holiday gifts, and sit in the London Plane Christmas tree "forest" on the socially-distanced patio as they enjoy eggnog lattes and chocolate peppermint cookies. Wreaths and garland will also be for sale. Featured artists and merchants include Swan Dive Vintage, Izzie Klingels, Clementines, Flora & Henri, London Plane Flower Shop, and Velouria. 

With months of pandemic-related closures threatening many small businesses, Visit Seattle recently launched a "Do Something" campaign that calls on locals in the region to get out and do something nearby in a way that is safe and responsible. While the full impact of the pandemic on King County is not yet known, there is already significant data to prove that the pandemic has taken a devastating toll on the region. London Plane's Outdoor Winter Market is an amazing opportunity to shop from great local brands that could really use your support this holiday season.

Fashion Preview: Brooks Running Spring '17

Brooks Running recently unveiled a colorful Spring '17 collection to a small group of style bloggers and editors in the city. The evening started at the Brooks Running Trailhead store on Stone Way with a short run for guests to test the new gear and get a better feel for the movement and functionality of each piece. The latest collection is designed with the athleisure trend in mind providing equal parts of style and performance on and off the run. Tops are breathable and lightweight, tights and capris feature flat waistbands and sweat-resistant interior pockets, while shoes are responsive with flexible soles. Comfort and convenience play a big role in the collection which includes a healthy mix of seasonal trends including bright, graphic prints, mesh fabrics, and breathable materials that wick moisture from the body. Details make the difference throughout the line with an emphasis on fit and fabric. The collection is designed to be mixed and matched, but savvy shoppers will notice that many pieces pair back to others items in the line including sports bras and colorful prints.

NUBE to host sensory shopping experience on Capitol Hill

I could spend hours talking about anything beauty-related. Such Sweet Tierney

Designed by husband and wife team London Tierney and Christian Perry, Such Sweet Tierney is a gorgeous collection of hand-printed textiles that are assembled into everything from tea towels to tote bags. All designs are rendered onto paper with pens and paint, then manually screen-printed in Pioneer Square using eco-friendly, water-based inks. Pine + Boon

I first stumbled upon Pine + Boon products at Moorea Seal's shop in Belltown and have been following the line ever since. Created by Jess Marie Griffith, who runs a small design studio in Seattle, the Pine + Boon line features suede totes, leather bags with hand-painted graphic prints, coin purses and more. Glittersweet

Colorful enough to brighten even the gloomiest day, Glittersweet bags are made for Pacific Northwest living. Designed to sparkle in the sun and stand up to the rain, the entire line is made of high-quality vinyl and produced locally in Sodo. BEVÉE

After founding the nail polish line butter LONDON, Seattle entrepreneur Sasha Muir set her sights on the world of accessories. Inspired by working women in need of functional yet fashion-forward accessories, Sasha developed BEVÉE (pronounced beh-vay), a line of convertible wallets and handbags that transition from office to evening in a click. Bag, Borrow or Steal

When Jennifer Hudson wowed Sarah Jessica Parker with her patchwork Louis Vuitton rental in the first Sex & The City movie, Bag Borrow or Steal became a household name.
