Spring 2010 Trend: Feathers

One of my favorite Spring 2010 trends is the feather.  Whether you wear it as part of an evening gown ensemble or as a wrap to cover your shoulders this fun trend is the perfect way to celebrate spring fashion and add a stylish touch to your wardrobe.

Decorating with Decals

Living in a rental and dying to decorate? Painting is SO last year and guess what? Wall decals have come a long way. For those of you new to the wall decal game, the story is simple. Stick it on and peel it off. It's that easy and Blik has graphics to satisfy every personality and decorating style.

Blik is perfect for people who love to decorate but don't want to commit to wallpaper or a certain shade of paint. Within minutes, you can transform the look of any room in your house and when you’re tired of your design you can remove the decal and start over again.

I love the mirror frame! It makes an otherwise plain mirror look oh so chic!

Or how about using decals in lieu of a wooden headboard? LOVE.

How about decorating the floor with doilies? OMG so cute. Makes me want to have a tea party!

If you think your room would look better with shelves but don't want to physically install them, this is the perfect solution for you!

You can even use decals to decorate chair backs. Such a cute idea!!!

Savvy Girls Love Peep Toe Shoes

If you’re obsessed with shoes you need to know about Peep Toe Shoes, a shoe line based out of Sydney, Australia. The first collection was launched in October of 2006 and the company has been going strong ever since. Designer Nikki Hager says, "From the very beginning, stilettos have always been my absolute passion. I love the way a pair of stilettos can change a woman's behavior and elongate her physique. My shoes are made for fashion savvy, sophisticated women who are not afraid to express their individuality."

There’s a long list of celebrities who love Peep Toe Shoes including Lauren Bosworth, Kelly Rowland, The Kardashian Sisters, Rachel Finch, Nicky Hilton and more. Plus, the line is regularly featured in publications such as Instyle, Cosmo, Marie Claire and Vogue.

My faves from the Peep Toe Line for Spring 2010 are:

Miss Dionesia, a nude heel that will pair perfectly with your spring wardrobe.

Miss Fifi Belle is the perfect way to add a splash of color for spring. These delicious shoes have a beautiful fish scale effect and a fun open toe detail.

For those of you craving a little more color, how about these Miss Lulu electric purple pumps.

Had I know about these amazing silk nude pumps last summer I would have worn them for my wedding! The gorgeous bow is a beautiful touch and the built-in platform is made with 3 layers of cushioning for optimum comfort.

The Miss Buckingham shoe is perfect for spring since the colors are muted making this shoe versatile enough to wear with denim or a pretty dress.

Don’t forget to follow Peep Toe on Facebook and Twitter! And, if you’re having a hard time finding a stylish calendar for 2010, download this fashion forward calendar courtesy of Peep Toe Shoes. (Each month a new page will be released!)

Shop online at Peep Toe, the selection of shoes and colors are unreal. Cheers!

Assouline Expands Retail Reach

Assouline, the husband and wife publishing team responsible for numerous titles including the American Fashion Cookbook, American Fashion Menswear, Dressing in the Dark, The Little Black Dress and dozens of other fashion and style books, is expanding it’s reach into retail and luxury services. It’s next store will open in Las Vegas (next door to Cartier) as part of a new multibillion-dollar resort, retail, and residential complex. Newsweek reports that Assouline is betting the owners of the many new apartments above the shopping and leisure facilities will treat his new store—with its specially designed sofas, stylish décor, custom library service, and vintage corner—as a furniture and decorative-items supplier, as well as a bookshop. "If you want to build a kitchen you go to Bulthaup; for the bedroom it is Frette; and if you want to create a library you go to Assouline," he says. Assouline's soothing French accent and persuasive manner combine to make that logic seem as natural as night following day.

About Assouline
Assouline Publishing has created fine illustrated books, luxury editions and an exquisite gift line dedicated to fashion, photography, art and design. Renowned for their highly original graphic concept, Assouline books are a work of art that capture culture and brings it to life. The spirit and 'savoir faire' of these works have contributed to the creation of a unique and eclectic, chic and elegant brand that is immediately identifiable. Today, Assouline publications, special editions and gift items can be found around the globe in select high end retail locations and Assouline boutiques. In 2010 Assouline plans to open up a corner store at London’s Harvey Nichols and a second one at Sotheby’s in Paris.

Assouline has a partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (which helps explain their numerous fashion industry titles) but they also publish books on art, design, travel, culinary arts and lifestyles. In addition to publishing books, Assouline also operates a small creative agency which creates the ads for Chanel watches and Harry Winston campaigns.

Working In Style

This year Santa brought me the new Juicy Couture wireless mouse so that I can be a diva even while working at my desk.  This mouse is an adorable baby pink with gold scripted text and of course, the signature Juicy Couture crown.  I love that the mouse is wireless (no messing around with annoying cords) and comes with the AAA batteries you need to operate it (which means no last minute runs to the store).  It also comes with a little cradle so you can dock it and recharge overnight, plus it has a "sleep" function so you can save battery. Love.
