In a move to remain competitive with e-commerce retailers who are offering customers rapid turnaround times after placing orders online, Zumiez has made the decision to relocate their e-commerce order fulfillment operations to Edwardsville, Kansas. The move, scheduled to take place in May, will allow Zumiez to deliver online orders to customers anywhere in the continental U.S. in 3 days or less. The 35 Everett, Washington-based employees affected by the move were given a 60-day notice last week and offered the opportunity to relocate to Kansas, or take severance packages based on their years of service and position."Decisions like this need to be evaluated carefully, especially when they impact our valued team members. As a company, we continually evaluate opportunities to increase the speed of delivering products to our customers while also improving our costs," said Zumiez Chief Financial Officer Marc Stolzman.
