How To: Transition your Wardrobe from Summer to Fall

Sadly it's true- summer is almost over and it will once again be time to start thinking about transitioning your wardrobe into fall. Lucky for you, many of the pieces that are already making regular rotations in your closet will transfer nicely into the next season with a few minor styling updates.

- The Sheer Blouse -
The go-to blouse you've been breezing around in all summer will make a seamless transition to fall when paired with utilitarian shorts and opaque tights. Heading into the office? Pair your sheer blouse with a full coverage tank and trousers instead.

- Light Wash Denim -
Skinny fit stretch denim in light washes is versatile and easy-to-wear any time of year. Incorporate these jeans into your fall line-up by pairing with yummy suede boots and a chic leather jacket. You can also wear summer's skinny jeans with cozy fall sweaters and graphic tees. If you're ready for more of an update you can also check out this season's colorful printed denim or update your fall jacket

-  Lace T-Shirts -
Lace was everywhere for spring/summer and fortunately for those of you who are heavily invested in it like I am,  lace will still remain relevant for fall. Pair a lacy tee with a peplum pencil skirt and pumps for a polished, work-ready look. Craving something else? Add a feminine touch to menswear-inspired camo prints by pairing with a sheer lace tee.

- The Maxi Dress -
Whether you love the original or prefer the updated high/low version instead, the maxi dress is here to stay. To create structure for fall, pair with a fitted blazer. To style as a maxi skirt to create a fresh look, pair with a pullover sweater instead. And as always, add accessories.

- The Summer Scarf -
Sheer, summer scarves are the perfect multi-taskers. During the hot summer months they can be used as a swim cover-up or head wrap, but when the weather gets cooler- scarves are a great way to keep the texture of your outfit (think: big, wool coats) from becoming too heavy. Scarves are also an easy way to infuse color into a neutral fall outfit.

- Plain Black Tee -
Printed trousers (as shown above by Asos) look great when paired with a classic button-up shirt, but for a more playful approach, pair with a simple black t-shirt and stylish shoes instead. Make sure your black tee fits properly to avoid looking sloppy. The key here is to dress up the t-shirt not make it look totally out of place.

Happy Shopping!
